Preparatory Symphony Orchestra
Ms. Elizabeth Bartlett was born and raised in Johnson City, New York. She is a graduate of the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. While at Crane, she studied Double Bass with Mr. Richard Stephan and Mr. John Geggie. After graduating, Ms. Bartlett returned to the area to teach for the Binghamton City School District.
She received her Masters in Music from SUNY Binghamton in Double Bass performance under the direction of Mr. Steven Stalker. For the past 15 years, Ms. Bartlett has taught for the Binghamton City School District and presently teaches lessons and string orchestra at MacArthur Elementary and Binghamton High School. Previously, Ms. Bartlett was an adjunct instructor for Broome Community College for Double Bass and Electric Bass Performance.
Ms. Bartlett is an active performer in the community and a member of Binghamton's Musicians Union, Local 380. Ms. Bartlett is also a member of the Broome County Music Educators Association (BCMEA), the American String Teachers Association (ASTA), and the Southern Tier Music Teachers Association (STMTA). In 2011, Ms. Bartlett was honored with the opportunity to conduct the BCMEA 5-6 All County Orchestra.
