SPRING CONCERT
It is hard to believe it, but the end of the school year is just around the corner. The Binghamton Youth Symphony Orchestra has some events coming up that we would like to announce. Could you please forward this information to anyone or organizations that might be interested.
The Binghamton Youth Symphony will have auditions twice this spring. Sunday, April 28 and Sunday, May 19. We have added the extra audition time for those students who might have a NYSSMA solo prepared and would like to use it for this audition and not have to keep practicing it any longer. Both auditions are at Binghamton High School from 12-3 P.M. Please go to our website for information about scheduling an audition and the audition requirements. There are openings in all sections of both the Senior and Junior orchestra.
There is a registration fee for being a member of the orchestra. If any of your students need financial help, we have some scholarship money available. Please don't let this fee be the cause for a student for not being part of the orchestra.
Our spring concert will be held on Sunday, May 12 (Mother's Day) at 3:00 P.M. The concert is at Binghamton High School and will feature both the Junior and Senior Orchestras.
Any music teachers belonging to STMTA or to the Broome, Tioga, or Chenango county music teachers' organizations will be admitted free of charge. Simply identify yourself at the box office and your ticket is free. Likewise, we will be admitting students who are 12 years and under free of charge.
Please inform your students of these announcements. This is an opportunity for them to participate in a program that has been beneficial to local music students for more that 60 years. Additionally, we hope to see many of you at the upcoming concert.
